Willmott Dixon, Nicholas Hare Architects and Impact Art have been appointed as preferred bidder to Northampton Academies. The Northampton Schools project will include, amongst others, the design & rebuild of the Primary and Secondary Kettering Science Academy.
The first 2 schools are valued at £26m and work will begin on site in Autumn 2010.
Impact Art and the design team are working with artists Vanessa Dell and Andrew Small to take a number of commission proposals forward which will embed art into the life & fabric of the building and landscape.
Belinda Holden from Impact Art will be developing a colour strategy for the internal space.
Student engagement sessions took place during the bidding phase and have continued on into the detailed design process.
